What is Card Protection Insurance?
Also known as 'Peace of Mind Plan', 'Card Repayment Protector', 'Accident Sickness,Life & Unemployment Cover', or simply 'Payment Protection Insurance', these policies insure making your card payments if you're not able to do so, each with its own specific criteria for you to qualify for cover.
The problem is that they are often added to your card application and are rarely clearly explained that they are purely optional features that are not a necessary part of the card application. This is especially true with online or over the phone applications.
These policies may seem harmless only charging a few percentage points based on your account balance but as your balance increases and the years go by they can amount to thousands of pounds in fees with seemingly little real benefit.
For this reason, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has recently fined several of the high street banks, and store card operators for breaching the FSA principles of fair business conduct.
If you said yes to either of the questions at the top of this page than with your authority signature we can get your money back for you!
CPS will not only get you a full refund on the monthly PPI fees for as long as you have had the card, but we will also get you a refund of the interest charged associated with the PPI. This is how much debt you would have paid off your card balance had your payments not been deflected by the monthly PPI charge.
A recent client example;
One client received £5,629 for his payments made for the PPI cover on a Barclaycard and received an additional £19,595 in refund for the amount of debt he would of paid off over the 8-10 years he had the card which did not happen because of the portion of his payments going to monthly PPI cover. He also received £5,571 as 8% compensatory interest for the time Barclaycard had his money.
